The journal was founded in 2011 under the auspices of the International Association of Morphologists. The first editor-in-chief from 2011 to 2013 was Doct. Med. Sci., professor Semenov Sergey Nikolaevich, headed the human anatomy department from 2008 to 2013. Since 1.12.2015 the journal is included in the list of publications recommended by the Higher Attestation Commission of the Ministry of Education and Science of Russian Federation.
