Author Guidelines
Author guidelines
1. Volume of manuscripts
The volume of original articles (experimental works) should not exceed 20 pages, theoretical and overview - 30 pages; the volume of short messages should correspond to 4-5 pages. The volume of the manuscript includes an abstract of the article in Russian and English, illustrations and references.
2. Text
The article should be written in modern scientific language. Text of the article should be typed in Microsoft Word, A4 format, page orientation – portrait, margins –2.5 cmon all sides, font – Times New Roman, font size – 14, 1.5 spacing. Pages should be numbered in the top right corner in consecutive numbering. The beginning of the articles should be documented as following: the UDC should be placed in the upper left corner and the name of the article in lowercase letters with capital letter is presented on the next line. The title of the article should be concise and accurately reflect its contents. Initials and surname of the author(s) should be presented below; the name of the institution where the author works should be on the next line, indicating the unit (faculty, department, laboratory, etc.), city and country. Further through the empty line, the brief summary of the article and keywords (not more than 10) are provided. Abstract and keywords are duplicated in English.
Below through the empty line, the text of the article follows. In the text of the original article the following headings should be used: “Introduction”, “Material and Methods”, “Results and Discussion, “Conclusion”.
Anatomical and histological terms used in articles must comply with current international anatomical, histological and veterinary anatomical nomenclature and the name of the disease - the International Classification of Diseases (ICD-10).
When submitting print experimental works, authors should follow the “Rules of work with experimental animals”. In addition to species, sex and number of animals used, the authors must indicate applied methods of pain management and methods of killing animals during painful procedures.
Physical units used in the materials must comply with the International System of Units in the field of science. Relative atomic masses are given in the form of12C. The point is not placed after the following: heading, UDC, the article’s title, authors, titles, subtitles, table names and dimensions (“s” – second, “gr” – gram, “m” – minute, “d” – degrees, “wk” – week). The scientific names of living organisms are typed in Latin script. Genus and species are written in italics: Deroceras agreste L., 1879; Daphnia longispina sp. All abbreviations should be defined at the first mention, except for a small number of commonly used abbreviations.
Text dashes are separated by spaces from the words. A dash without space indicates a system, an alloy, a mixture, a border, relationship, the interval “from–to” and so on as well as connects the two names. For example: the system Ni–Cd (nickel–cadmium), the system HCl–H2SO4–HClO4; division surface of the gas-liquid; hematoxylin and eosin staining; coloring by reagent sublimate–bromophenol blue; coloring by Romanovsky–Giemsa; January–February 2000; during 3–5 seconds; at a temperature of 54–58°C; in the reference list – P. 116–118.
A hyphen is used without spaces: N-methyl ..., γ-radiation, academician B.M. Kozo-Polyansky.
Formulas are typed in the formula editor and numbered in Arabic numerals in round parentheses. Mathematical formulas such as sin, log and the chemical elements S, Co are typed in upright font. As a symbol of multiplication “×”: 4,8 × 109 /L. is only used. Symbol “∙” applies only to vector multiplications (a ∙ b) and in the chemical formulas (CuSO4 ∙ 7H2O). The multiplication sign “×” is used only in the following cases: (1) if there is a number on the right side to it 2 × 10–3 , М × 104 ; (2) when transferring formulas; (3) in the scalar product of vectors: a × b; (4) if it means the magnification range, multiplicity: ×200. Inall other cases the sign is omitted: 2σ, 3π. Decimal symbol is a point, not a comma: 5.25, not 5,25. Molarity and normality are written directly to0.5 MKOH, 2 N HCl. Within numerical ranges, where the numbers have a sign, dots are placed instead of dash: –5 ... –1°C. The dimensions of the figures are separated by spaces 100 kPa, 77 K, except degrees, percentages, permille:90°C, 50%, 1.25‰. If the work is supported by grants, after the conclusion the full name of the fund and the number of the project should be indicated.
3. The illustrative material
Tables, figures and diagrams are permitted to be used as illustrative material. The tables are numbered in Arabic numerals in the order they are mentioned in the text. The name of the table is given after on the next line. If there is only one table, the word “table” before the name is not written. All columns in the tables and tables themselves should have titles and be separated by vertical lines. Abbreviations in the tables are not recommended. The digital data on lines should be clearly marked by lines. Illustrations are published in color and black and white. They are inserted in the text as they are mentioned. The width of the picture must not exceed 16 cm, height – 24 cm. The figure’s print resolution should be at least 300 points/inch. Each of the drawings (photographs) should be placed in a separate file with a resolution tif. and signed (Figure 1, Figure 2, etc.). Figures without signatures will not be accepted. Large-scale segment should be placed in the electrogram. Captions to microphotographs must specify the method of coloring and magnification, for example: (“ob. 40; oc. 10”). The figures in the charts and diagrams should be contrasted with the large hatch (if necessary). Illustrative material should be accompanied by a notation, where the name of the axes of the graphs, dimension, transcript to introduced abbreviations are provided. Graphs and diagrams are provided as a separate file with the extension xls.
4. Summary
Abstract is a summary of the article indicating only the essential facts of the work. The volume of the abstract should be at least 200 words. For original manuscripts abstract must include: objective, methods and results, conclusion. It is not recommended to enter non-standard abbreviations in the summary. Method description should be concise and provide an idea of methodological approaches and research methodology. The results obtained should be described very accurately and informatively. The basic theoretical and experimental results, new scientific facts, correlations and objective laws should be also given. After the abstracts, the key words are given. The text of the abstract, including the title of the article, the names and initials of the authors, the place of work and key words are translated into English.
5. References
References should be provided in the end of the article, where the sources are mentioned in alphabetical order. First the domestic authors are indicated, then – foreign. In the text references to the literature are given in square brackets, for example [1]; [3–5]. The original manuscripts should cite no more than 30 sources, literature reviews – no more than 60 sources, other materials – up to 15 sources. References should contain publications in the last 5 years in addition to fundamental works. Such documents as Federal laws, regulations, orders, regulations, GOSTs, medical and sanitary rules, sanitary and epidemiological rules, standards, guidelines, are not placed in the list of literature, but in the text in the form of a note.
It should minimize the citation of conference materials older than 5 years. Self-citation is undesirable, except when it is necessary (no more than 3-5 references in Reviews).
