<trans-abstract xml:lang="en"><p>The aim of the investigation was to study the dynamics of serotonin 5-HT1A receptor expression in the skin of white male rats under dark deprivation.</p>
<title>Material and methods</title><p>Material and methods. 20 outbred male rats 170–220 grams by mass were used in the experiment. The animals were divided into 2 groups. The intact group included animals under standard fixed lighting conditions (12 h light / 12 h dark). The experimental group consisted of animals with simulation of dark deprivation under conditions of round-the-clock illumination (24 h light). The duration of the study was 21 days. The object of the study was the skin of rats. Using immunohistochemistry, the features of the expression of 5-HT1A receptors were studied.</p>
<title>Results</title><p>Results. A strong circadian dependence of the expression of serotonin 5-HT1A receptors in the general integument has been established. In the cells of the epidermis, sebaceous glands and hair follicles throughout the experiment, a decrease in the proportion of immunopositive cells was observed with a simultaneous increase in the positivity of 5-HT1A expression.</p>
<title>Conclusion</title><p>Conclusion. Throughout the experiment, a strong circadian dependence of the expression of serotonin 5-HTR1A receptors in the general integument was expressed, which, apparently, determines the mechanism of an adequate response to the destabilization of circadian rhythms.</p>
</trans-abstract><kwd-group xml:lang="ru"><kwd>рецепторы серотонина</kwd><kwd>эпидермис</kwd><kwd>сальные железы</kwd><kwd>волосяные фолликулы</kwd><kwd>серотонин</kwd><kwd>темновая депривация</kwd></kwd-group><kwd-group xml:lang="en"><kwd>serotonin receptors</kwd><kwd>epidermis</kwd><kwd>sebaceous glands</kwd><kwd>hair follicles</kwd><kwd>serotonin</kwd><kwd>dark deprivation</kwd></kwd-group></article-meta></front><back><ref-list><title>References</title><ref id="cit1"><label>1</label><citation-alternatives><mixed-citation xml:lang="ru">Санитарные правила и нормы 2.1.2.12-18-2006 «Устройство оборудование и содержание экспериментально-биологических клиник (вивариев) от 31 октября 2006 №131</mixed-citation><mixed-citation xml:lang="en">Sanitarnye pravila i normy 2.1.2.12-18-2006 «Ustroistvo oborudovanie i soderzhanie eksperimental'nobiologicheskikh klinik (vivariev) ot 31 oktyabrya 2006 №131 (in Russian).</mixed-citation></citation-alternatives></ref><ref id="cit2"><label>2</label><citation-alternatives><mixed-citation xml:lang="ru">Соболевская И. Д.
