Материал собран в летний период от 16 котов различного возраста в ветклиниках г. Воронежа при проведении стерилизации животных. Семенники фиксировали в жидкостях Штиве, Буэна. Материал заливали в парафин и готовили серии парафиновых срезов, толщиной 4–5 мкм. Срезы окрашивали гематоксилином и эозином, железным гематоксилином, азаном по Гейденгайну, по методу трихром-ШИК и тетрахром-ШИК. С помощью винтового окуляр-микрометра измеряли диаметр семенных канальцев и канала придатка семенника (по 50 измерений для каждого животного). Для определения эффективности сперматогенеза при увеличении ×900 подсчитывали количество сперматоцитов первого порядка в стадии зиготены и пахитены, ранних сперматид (по 50 канальцев для каждого животного). Нормальность распределения определяли с помощью критерия Колмогорова – Смирнова и поправки Лиллиефорса. Результаты измерений обрабатывали с помощью непараметрического U-критерия Манна–Уитни. Статистически значимыми считались изменения при Р&lt;0.05.</p></sec><sec><title>Результаты</title><p>Результаты. Максимальный диаметр семенных канальцев и канала придатка семенника выявлен у животных в возрасте двух лет. Эти показатели у котов в возрасте 8 лет уменьшаются на 29.2% и 17.0% соответственно. Сравнивая численность гибнущих клеток у старых и молодых животных, можно отметить, что у котов в возрасте 8 лет увеличивается численность гибнущих сперматид, при этом эффективность сперматогенеза статистически значимо уменьшается на 19.1% .</p></sec></abstract><trans-abstract xml:lang="en"><p>The purpose of this study is to study the efficiency of spermatogenesis in old and young cats in various seasons of the year</p><sec><title>Material and methods</title><p>Material and methods. The material has been collected from 16 cats of different ages in winter and summer periods in Voronezh veterinary clinics while animals being sterilized. The testicles were fixed in Shtiva’s liquid and Buen’s liquid. The material was poured into paraffin and a series of paraffin sections 4–5 μm thick were prepared. Sections were stained with hematoxylin and eosin, iron hematoxylin, Heidengain azane, trichrome-PAS reaction and tetrachrome-PAS reaction. By means of a helical eyepiece-micrometer, the diameter of the testicles tubules and the epididymis (50 measurements for each animal) were measured. To determine the effectiveness of spermatogenesis at an increase in 900 times, the number of first-order spermatocytes in the zigotene and pachitene stage, early spermatid (50 canals for each animal) was estimated. The normality of the distribution was determined using the Kolmogorov–Smirnov test and the Lilliefors adjustment. The measurement results were processed using the nonparametric Mann–Whitney U-criteria. Changes at Р&lt;0.05 were considered statistically significant.</p></sec><sec><title>Results</title><p>Results. The maximum diameter of the testicular tubules and the canal of the epididymis was found in animals at two years of age. These parameters in cats at the age of 8 years are reduced by 29.2%, and by17.0%, respectively.
